Spar FAI Schools 5 A Side Soccer

Thursday April 4th saw our school teams take part in the SPAR FAI Schools 5 a side competition in Lecarrow. Our boys A team were drawn against Knockcroghery A, who defeated them quite comprehensively, though they bounced back well to beat neighbours Cloverhill in the next game. Our Boys B team played against Ballyforan B and Runnamoate B, also winning well. 

We had two girls teams as well. Our B team beat Ballyforan, but were subsequently well beaten by a strong Glanduff team who qualified from that group. Our A team beat Cloonfad by the odd goal in 5, and then drew with Cootehall 0-0. In the resulting play off, Lisaniskey won 2-0, to reach the next stage.

Well done to all, and a great day – in dry weather – was a welcome experience!!

Next round is in Lecarrow on Thursday May 2nd.
